“Playing” Django are a 5 piece Gypsy Jazz group based in Birmingham. They delight and amaze audiences around the country with their interpretations of the classic sounds of swing of the 20’s, 30’s, and 40’s from Django Reinhardt and Stephan Grappelli.
Featuring the amazing vocal talents of Abigail Seabrook and the virtuoso violin of Pete Hartley, this is a group that has bags of life and fun.

Musessence

musessence performs music from the Great American Songbook including tunes made famous by the likes of Anita O’Day, Benny Goodman, Ella Fitzgerald, Chet Baker, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington and many more.
The group is led by dynamic trombonist Andy Derrick, an award winning performer and published composer who has worked alongside Alan Barnes, Mark Nightingale, Dennis Rollins and Toots Thielmans.
A veteran of the UK big band scene, Andy has worked with the Rat Pack, Syd Lawrence Orchestra, Paris Conservatoire Jazz Orchestra and is currently lead trombonist with the famous Fat Chops Big Band.
Accompanied by piano, bass and drums, musessence has one goal: to impart our love for great music to you, our audience.
